Reservations Manager

Positioned on a beautifully landscaped 15-hectare property, Alba will offer contemporary indoor, open-air, and outdoor thermal bathing and spa experiences designed to rejuvenate and recalibrate. The restaurant and cafe will serve meals using locally sourced, seasonal produce and luxury villa accommodation will be available from 2023.


The role

To support our vision to be Victoria’s most sought-after bathing and wellness experience we are seeking a Reservations Manager to join our executive team, reporting directly to the Operations Managerand managing a team of up to eight colleagues you will have direct accountability for maximising overall revenue through the implementation and drive of effective reservations processes, procedures, systems, reports and standards.

You will have a proven track record in managing a successful reservations team to drive maximum conversions per call, through training and development and effective upselling programs.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing colleague performance – oversee Reservations Sales Agent’s (RSAs) to ensure business practices are consistent with the property’s revenue management goals.
  • Maintaining constant control over the property’s capacity and outlets.
  • Communicating key performance results and coach, motivate and inspire the team in achieving monthly/ year end / overall key performance indicators.
  • Preparing reservation rosters.
  • Coordinating the training of new RSAs and ongoing training of existing RSAs.
  • Communicating to RSAs the success of all promotions and packages
  • Providing feedback on the effect of pricing decisions on both team and guests and contributing to pricing decisions.
  • Managing upselling reservation targets.
  • Complaint handling and problem solving when issues arise.
  • Familiarity with key competitors and OTAs, their websites and product offerings.
  • Actively promoting a work environment, which cares for guests and colleagues alike.


For this role, your attributes will be inclusive of the following:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a luxury spa resort or similar environment
  • Detailed knowledge and skill in the use of property management systems
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well presented, friendly and professional

The role

To support our vision to be Victoria’s most sought-after bathing and wellness experience we are seeking an Operations Manager to join our executive team, reporting directly to the General Manager.

Our Operations Manager has the unique opportunity to help shape an exceptional service culture and bring this exciting new brand to life. We are looking for someone who will represent our seamless service philosophy, who is a naturally confident person able to lead a large team across the operation. Passionate for spa and wellness, you will assist in creating luxury experiences for our guests through inspiring the team to create memorable moments each day.

Key Responsibilities:

You will have direct responsibility for managing the operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Springs and Reservations, including:

  • Playing an integral role with the General Manager in developing and executing strategy.
  • Initiating and actively participating in department meetings and providing meaningful input at executive leadership meetings
  • Ensuring a very high level of presentation is achieved through attention to detail.
  • Establishing reactive and preventative maintenance workflows to ensure our assets are being maintained.
  • Regularly and effectively communicating with teams across the operations so they have the necessary information to perform at their best.
  • Involving your direct reports in the preparation of weekly rosters, monthly reports, and forecasts.
  • Regularly coaching supervisors and assistant managers to personally develop our team.
  • Working closely with the Finance team to maximise margins for optimal profitability.
  • Ensuring external relationships with contractors are engaged and maintained with a personal approach.
  • Managing all areas in accordance with specific legislations and best practice guidelines.

Specific Requirements:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for:

  • A high achiever in managing P&L including budgeting, forecasting, payroll planning and cost control.
  • Previous experience in a spa resort and/or a luxury property within a leadership role is highly regarded.
  • Evidence of a strong desire to develop people and care for their wellbeing.
  • Someone who can consistently demonstrate seamless service behaviours.

Spa Director

The role

To support our vision to be Victoria’s most sought-after bathing and wellness experience we are seeking a Spa Director to join our executive team. Reporting directly to the General Manager the position is responsible for setting and delivering the strategic direction for the spa.

Our Spa Director has the unique opportunity to create an exceptional spa experience and bring this exciting new brand to life. Through recruitment, training, and employee engagement this important position will focus on creating a dynamic and inclusive workplace culture from the ground up, with an opportunity to shape a team of 70+ therapists within Alba’s 22-treatment rooms.

Your day-to-day activities and duties will be varied and engaging and will include:

  • Developing and delivering the day spa and wellness centre business plan and future wellness development
  • Developing and executing all wellness packages, programming, events, workshops and retreats to engage guests and drive revenue
  • Conducting market research and analysis on the latest wellness trends to ensure that every opportunity is taken to implement unique and special experiences for our guests
  • Developing and monitoring financial and yield management strategies to increase revenue and maximise profit
  • Identifying and developing new and existing revenue streams
  • Overseeing the management of the operations
  • Ensuring that therapists and receptionist are fully trained in all key areas such as treatment performance, retail sales and reception tasks.
  • Consistently monitoring therapist’s treatments and reception tasks to ensure highest quality performance.
  • Managing staff feedback and performance appraisals.
  • Developing Standard Operating Procedures for all treatments and reception tasks and ensuring all therapists are correctly performing treatments as per spa treatment protocol.


About you

  • Diploma in Beauty Therapy or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience running a large spa and or wellness centre
  • Proven people management skills are essential
  • Excellent guest service experience and decision-making capabilities
  • Proven ability to analyse and interpret financial information to inform business decisions
  • Strong working knowledge of Spa programs, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office and Micros
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Flexible and able to embrace and respond to change effectively

Our Talent and Culture Manager has the unique opportunity to help shape an exceptional service culture and bring this exciting new brand to life. Through recruitment, training and employee engagement this important position will be focused on creating a dynamic and inclusive workplace culture from the ground up, with an opportunity to shape a team of 200+ therapists, waiters, chefs, receptionists, guest relations and grounds staff.


Experience

To be successful in the role you will need experience in:

  • Preparing and implementing an annual talent and culture business plan
  • Recruiting across a range of disciplines and levels, including senior management
  • Developing an induction program
  • Establishing training programs to enable seamless service standards in keeping with a premium brand
  • Establishing employee Initiatives, including a reward and recognition program
  • Overseeing talent development incentives
  • Managing salary reviews and awards, plus payroll
  • Managing OH&S


Skills and qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
