Alba to provide all-organic, all-Australian facial and body treatments

MORNINGTON PENINSULA, VICTORIA, OCTOBER 2021 – This week, it was announced that Alba Thermal Springs and Spa has appointed Vanessa MeganTM and Aika Wellness as the exclusive spa partners providing products for the creation of an array of facial and body treatments and a bespoke private label range that will be in harmony with the wellness ethos of the Alba brand. Both all-Australian brands offer locally-made products – certified organic, vegan and cruelty-free – that combine natural botanicals with transformational therapeutics that will be used to guide the creation of a comprehensive spa treatment menu for Alba’s guests.

Set to open mid-2022 and nestled within 15 hectares of naturalised landscaping on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Alba will offer an array of indoor and outdoor spa experiences created to renew, repair, and recalibrate.

The focus for Vanessa MeganTM will be its Naturaceutical range of facial treatments using native wild-harvested Australian botanicals (such as finger limes, native plums, banksia and kangaroo paw), natural peptides, and colloidal silver, copper and gold, in clinically proven formulations. Founder of the eponymous company, Vanessa Gray launched the range over a decade ago and has garnered more than 50 awards internationally for its innovative formulations. While details of the facial treatment menu have yet to be finalised, guests can expect complexion experiences that will pamper and purify, repair and rejuvenate, with long-lasting and outstanding results.

Aika Wellness body treatments are based in Ayurveda – the traditional healing system in India and Sri Lanka dating back 5,000 years. Aika’s Ayurvedic products and treatments are designed to create a synergy between sensuous skin care and aromatherapy that nourishes and heals the body, mind, and soul. For Alba, Aika Wellness will offer a customised range of richly pigmented, holistic body products and calming rituals based on each of the three doshas – vata, pitta, or kapha. According to the company’s founder, Eranthi, identifying an individual’s dominant ‘dosha’ enables a customised treatment that truly restores balance and harmony.

Located at Fingal, an hour’s drive from Melbourne, Alba Thermal Springs & Spa offers 22 single and or double spa treatment studios encompassing steam and Vichy rooms and treatment suites with baths. There is a separate manicure and pedicure lounge and a spacious relaxation lounge on the mezzanine level of the main spa building overlooking the extensive native gardens and water features. Throughout the surrounding landscapes grounds, Alba offers 32 elegant bathing pools of varying sizes – geothermal pools, cold plunge pools and herbal-infused botanical pools – and is guided with the vision to be Australia’s most sought-after bathing and wellness experience.

In announcing these two partnerships, Alba General Manager, Craig Dodd, said that the appointments were made after a rigorous selection process.

“Both Vanessa Megan and Aika Wellness mirror our own commitment to providing multi-sensory treatment experiences that are both restorative and transformational. That both companies are helmed by successful entrepreneurial women was also a factor we were proud to support,” said Dodd.

Products from both companies will be available for purchase at Alba and the full treatment menus will be announced in the coming months.
